Balancing first came in need in the early 80's when new and more advanced A/C systems were being installed. As these systems began to get more complex the need for balancing increased. An air conditioning & heating system is not complete without proper air balancing. We are experts in setting up the amount of airflow that would be distributed from each air diffuser. However, our job is much more involved than that. We've listed some of the items that are a part of balancing on most jobs:
 
Measure total airflow on all A/C and exhaust systems
Balance airflow on each supply and exhaust grille
Measure volts, amps, statics, RPM's, temperatures, and set minimum outside air requirements on all A/C units

Ductwork Modifications can also resolve many issues with improperly designed systems.  Improperly sized or designed ductwork is the most common reason people are not comfortable in their own homes. Imagine for a moment that your furnace is your lungs. Now imagine that you are running a 1-mile race. If you are in good shape you should have no problem. Now imagine that you have to run that same 1-mile race breathing through a cocktail straw. No matter how good of shape you are in, you will never run the race as fast and easily as if you could breath normally. This inability to breathe is what happens when your furnace is forced to operate through improperly sized ductwork.
